Art
As my family can tell you, I have been drawing and painting since I had fine motor skills. My art tends to be mixed media - I use everything from pencils, acrylics and oils, to more interesting analog tools, such as airbrush guns, to digital painting software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai.
Some of my favourite techniques involve sketching out a scene and perhaps painting the bulk of it, scanning it to digital to finish it up, and reprinting to canvas and embellishing the print using traditional glazing and embellishment techniques.A fun fact is that I do not typically use a tablet for digital art, as I learned to paint digitally using a mouse when I was in middle school, and was never able to get used to the lack of friction on early tablet offerings. I should probably try it again at some point, but I'm happy with my process for now.
My favourite genres of art are fantastic/surreal, comicbook, and architectural art. My style tends to be a little all over the places, but as long as I love art, I will continue to make it, and as long as I continue to make it, I will share it and hope that someone likes it.
Fantastic and Surreal Art
For as long as I can remember, I have loved to create surreal and fantastical art. This particular series has evolved over the years, and I imagine that all these pieces are drawn from scenes in the same world.
I hesitate to call these pieces explicitly fantasy, though some pieces are clearly inspired by the genre. I feel as though describing them that way narrows the lens of the viewer. I hope that you will enjoy these with an open mind.
